Introducing Retirees’ Club President – Terri Smith
We’re pleased to announce that Terri Smith has been appointed President of the CSA Retirees’ Club.
Terri worked at CSA Rexdale from 1987 to 2010 starting as a Systems Analyst and Manager in IRG (Information Resources Group), then as part of the CGI consulting team, and later as a Manager and Director in Corporate IT.
Post retirement, Terri joined the executive committee of the Retirees’ Club in 2011. She updated the Club’s website and is the webmaster for the http://www.csaretirees.org site.
Terri replaces Brian McCran who stepped down as President in October. During Brian’s tenure he guided the Club through the challenging COVID lockdown finding new ways for members to socialize by leading monthly Zoom sessions, and introducing summer picnics. He revitalized activities post COVID and continues to plan events for the club. Brian was also instrumental in revising the Club’s guidelines and in bringing renewed structure to our committee. THANK YOU BRIAN!
The Retirees’ Club Executive Committee consists of Terri Smith, Brian McCran, Daniel Barbini (Treasurer), Mel Doig (Recording Secretary), Susan Morley, Kris Jones and Chiu Wong.
The Club executive can be reached by sending an email to csaretirees.info@gmail or by leaving a message on the “Contact Us” page.

The flags at 178 Rexdale Blvd. are flying at half-mast today (July 11th) in respect and condolence on the sudden passing of Kelly Yaremko (nee Ewing) on July 11, 2023.
Kelly had worked at CSA for the past 27 years in various roles in C&T as well most recently as a Standards Administrative Assistant. Kelly was president of the EMBA and secretary for CUPE 967. Those of us who attended the Canada Day BBQ a couple of weeks ago shared greetings, hugs and ice cream with Kelly. Her smile and enthusiasm will be missed by all. Kelly was not yet 60 and her passing comes as a shock to us all.

In the office, Lynda could often be found, glasses off proofreading documents, but in her free time, she’d be out playing softball. Lynda often attended the EMBA golf tournament and could cut a rug on the dance floor at the Christmas dance. Lynda was deeply proud of her six children and many grandchildren. She was a great-grandma too! Sadly Lynda’s husband Jack passed away before they could enjoy retirement together.

Sixteen of us attended the tour of FESTI the Fire and Emergency Services Training Institute on July 5, 2023. We didn’t get to see the plane ablaze as in the photo above, but we got lots of great pictures of ourselves, the firefighters and the facilities. Check out the “EVENT PICTURES” tab on this website to see our photos. After the tour many of us went to Zet’s Restaurant on Airport Rd. No photos, but we had great food!
