Alex Kidd – August 14, 2026

Alex Kidd passed away on August 14, 2026 at the age of 79.

Alex retired at 65 as a Field Inspector. You knew that Alex was in the office when you heard his jovial voice still sounding every bit like the proud Scot he was.

John Softley – April 5, 2026

John Softley passed away on April 5, 2026 at the age of 71. Many first met John at the “Petty Cash” desk. Submit your expenses on a pink sheet of paper and John would immediately refund you. But the paper had to be pink! John worked in Accounting for years before moving to roles in Marketing.

Visitation and a Celebration of Life will be held in Bolton on April 28th. John’s memorial page on the funeral home website has all the information and provides an opportunity to share condolences with the family.

Bob Cordingly – Jan 1, 2026

Bob Cordingly passed away on January 1, 2026.

Bob was at CSA for 42 years before he retired from the Metrology and Calibration Lab. He was an active member of the Retirees’ Club attending events regularly as seen in the photos taken at the Christmas Lunch 2023, at Wally’s Sept 2024 and the CSA BBQ 2025.

Bob will be missed by his former colleagues and family. Information on funeral arrangements are not yet available. Note there is also a post on the CSA Group Friends Facebook account.

Thane Crozier – Nov 8, 2025

Thane Hartwell Bruce Crozier died peacefully at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Elliot Lake, Ontario on November 8, 2025 at 88 years of age.  He is survived by his beloved wife of 65 years, Helen (Jacomb) Crozier.  Thane retired in 1999 from his position as Vice President, Corporate Secretary with CSA in Toronto and moved to Elliot Lake with Helen. Willy Parfenuik – Sept 20, 2025 (revised)

Willy Parfenuik passed away on September 20, 2025 at 70 years old after a long stay in hospital.

Willy was a member of the Plumbing group and retired around 2014 after about 30 years at CSA. He’d been a hockey coach, a union leader and a proud Ukrainian. A wine enthusiast, he was also known for sharing “refreshments” on the golf course. Gone too soon, he was a friend to many and will be fondly remembered.

A private funeral will be held, with a ‘Celebration of Life’ at a future date.

Ron Wilson – Feb 5,2025

Ron Wilson passed on February 5th at 91.

Ron was a long time member of CSA and served as an Inspector, supervisor and manager for the Field Services team. In retirement Ron attended many retiree events. Check out some photos of Ron below.
